Core Strength Wichita Pilates Teacher Training course focuses heavily on alignment, muscular balance, dynamic and functional movement patterns, assessments, and movement modifications.  You will utilize the tools of both classical and contemporary Pilates principles to help guide you to become a versatile, informed, and educated teacher. During our intensive course, you will be continuously supported through your journey by our highly qualified team of Pilates professionals. 

Both the Pilates Mat and Comprehensive Pilates Instructor programs offer a dynamic, integrative approach to the art of teaching and practicing Pilates. Core Strength Wichita Pilates Teacher Training is founded on the philosophy that Pilates is an active encompassing strength, power, control, flexibility, and agility, used to assist clients in achieving their fitness goals.

Our 450-hour curriculum not only takes you through the full Pilates repertoire, but also teaches you how to assess which movements are best for each client. Our instructors have the unique ability to tailor their teaching approach in order to work with people from all fitness abilities, ages, and levels. Our Pilates teacher training program was developed to ensure all of our graduates receive the highest level of education and are well prepared to transition from a Pilates student to a Pilates teacher. In addition, our comprehensive program meets the requirements for Pilates Method Alliance certification eligibility. Over the course of our program, aspiring instructors will develop confidence and the knowledge to guide a Pilates class with their unique teaching style.  Our goal is to provide the Pilates training needed for you to deepen your own Pilates practice or making a move to a new path in teaching fitness.

Program Director

Core Strength Wichita Teacher Training program director is Mei Wong PMA-CPT. With over 20 years in the fitness and athletic industry and over 15 years of Pilates teaching, Mei will bring unmeasurable amounts of experience and knowledge to the program. She is passionate about the pursuit of excellence in Pilates teaching and dedicated to helping others obtain healthy movement.

Synopsis of Program

Mat Pilates Instructor Training (Block One)

Our Pilates Mat Instructor training can be completed in one of two ways: Individually or Included in our Comprehensive Training Program. Should you choose to complete the course individually the following requirements must be met before receiving a certification of completion: 

  • History & Philosophy of Pilates

  • Professionalism/Scope of Practice & Ethics

  • Anatomy & Movement Principles

  • Mat Instructor training or equivalent: Includes Pre-Pilates & Stretching (30 hours)

  • 15 Personal Practice Hours, 10 Teaching Hours, & 20 Observation Hours

Mat Certification is taught in 2 modules: Mat I & II.  Mat I includes History & Philosophy, Scope of Practice and all necessary Anatomy & Movement Principles. Mat 2 is a review and advance Pilates Mat exercises.

Before being awarded a certificate of completion both a written and practical assessment will be administered. 

450 - Hour Comprehensive Pilates Instructor Training (Block One – Five)

Must be completed to be eligible to take the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) Exam

  • Anatomy & Movement Principles (4 hours)

  • Mat Instructor training or equivalent (30 hours)

  • Reformer Instructor training ~ Course work, written and practical test (34 Hours)

  • Cadillac/Tower ~ Course work, written and practical test (18 hours)

  • Chair ~ Course work, written and practical test (12 hours)

  • Ladder Barrel & Arc ~ Course work, written and practical test (12 hours)

  • 90 Personal practice hours and 125 Teaching hours, 15 Teacher Training Specific Sessions & 100 Observation Hours]

  • Practical test (10 hours)

TOTAL: 450 Hour - Before being awarded a certificate of completion both a written and practical assessment will be administered. 

Five Block Descriptors:

Block One: Introduction to Lecture and Mat I, II

  • Introduction, History, and Guidelines for school professionalism

  • Basic Anatomy Pilates exercises with Precautions/Contraindications overview

  • Pilates Mat I, II Instructor training

  • Lecture, practice, review of Mat I, II precautions and contraindications

Block Two: Reformer I & II Instructor Training-Lecture

  • Learning each Pilates Reformer exercise and applying Pilates Mat exercises, precautions, contraindications and modification principles to each exercise using lecture, practice and review.

Block Three: Cadillac/Tower Instructor Training-Lecture

  • Learning each Pilates Cadillac/Tower exercises, precautions, contraindications and modification principles to each exercise using lecture, practice and review.

Block Four: Chair Instructor Training-Lecture

  • Learning each Pilates Chair exercises, precautions, contraindications and modification principles to each exercise using lecture, practice and review.

Block Five: Ladder Barrel & Arcs Instructor Training-Lecture

  • Learning each Pilates Ladder Barrel & Arcs exercises, precautions, contraindications and modification principles to each exercise using lecture, practice and review.

 

Program Costs

  1. Application & Registration cost: $75.00 (non-refundable)

  2. All program shown below prices are for training booked 14 days prior to the start of the training. Any training scheduled less than 14 days prior to the course start date will have an additional 10% rush charge.

Coursework Training Cost if purchased individually:

  • Block One – Mat I-III: $1195

  • Block Two - Reformer I & II: $1695

  • Block Three – Cadillac/Tower: $995

  • Block Four – Chair: $795

  • Block Five - Ladder Barrel & Arcs: $795

Coursework Training Cost if purchased Block One - Five (450 hr Comprehensive):

Block One – Five: $5175 (savings of $300)

Payment Plan:

  • Payment 1: $1445 due 14 days before Mat I

  • Payment 2: $1445 due 14 days before Reformer 1

  • Payment 3: $1142.50 due 14 days before Cadillac/Tower

  • Payment 4: $1142.50 due 14 days before Chair

Block One – Five: PAID IN FULL $4916.25 (discounted 5%)


Refund Policy

 All cancelations must be in writing.

  1. Cancellation received 30 days prior to the course start date that the applicant has applied for is entitled to a full refund minus a $100 cancellation fee, and the $75 application fee, or 6% of tuition, which ever is more.

  2. Cancellation of less than 30 days notice to the course start date that the applicant has applied for is entitled to a 50% refund minus the application fee.

  3. uition payments made prior to the course start will be refunded if cancellation meets the above requirements. Any tuition paid is NOT refundable once the course has begun

All payments are due upon signing up for the course.
If only one person signs up for the training, Core Strength Wichita has the right to postpone training.
